Welcome to the EMDC-East Website on Behavior Management, a site constructed as a resource for teachers and administrators about behavior management. The site includes information on corporal punishment issues, information on behavior, and models of behavior management.

Behavior management is not about controlling or restricting learners, but facilitating and encouraging students to take responsibility for their own actions. Behavior management is about creating an environment and attitude that encourages respect, responsibility, and self-discipline. When such a classroom is established, it enables students to focus on their school work, form healthy relationships, and develop self-esteem.
